Reaping the Benefits is easily one of the most original stories I’ve ever read. How often do you read a novel where one of the main characters works as a minion for the Grim Reaper. Isn’t really sexy or romantic, is it? It certainly is in this book by EJ Noyes.

Morgan is having a bad day. She’s quite busy trying to be the Minion of the Year. That means that she arranges as much as possible the afterlife for those who will die. And now also for her employee Jane. That doesn’t make her happy at all because she is attracted to Jane, who has no idea that her boss is not who she seems to be.

Jane is shocked when her sexy boss Morgan asks her to fill out a questionnaire in which she must indicate how she would like to experience her afterlife. She also finds out that her boss is the help of the Grim Reaper. And is also the head of all the other minions who work for Morgan’s boss.

Jane can’t avoid death so she decides to make the most of it. She promises to sign the document for the afterlife when Morgan uses the resources at her disposal to complete Jane’s bucket list. Only, one of the items on the list is ‘having sex with my boss’ 🤭. That makes the whole thing a lot more exciting for Jane and Morgan.

The more time they spend together, the more they find out that there is more than just physical attraction between them. But Morgan has already loved a mortal who she then had to lose to her boss. She’s still not quite over that. And Jane will die too! What to do, what to do 💀?

Bizarre right? How is it all supposed to work out? I know I was hoping and hoping for something that would still give it a nice twist. Because come on, Morgan and Jane had to end up together! But how 🤔? I’d say go read it 🥰❤️.
