Journey’s End is hands down the best Xena Conqueror story I’ve read. L.J. Maas was on fire with this one. Most of this story is written from Xena’s POV, it was as if she had become Xena. At least, that was what it felt like to me 😏.
After winning a battle, the Governor of Thessaly offers Xena, conqueror and ruler of Greece, to pick one of his finest body slaves. Xena is weary of such offerings. But she owes it to her title and reputation to pick one. When she doesn’t see anyone to her liking she almost decides to turn down his offer. But then she sees a small, timid blonde. Xena has no idea why, but she is immediately intrigued by the woman and decides to pick her. The body slave called Gabrielle.
Gabrielle turns out to be very good at what she does being a body slave. Physically pleasing Xena as she has never been pleased before. And many have pleased Xena before. Gabrielle’s story is a sad one and Xena is determined to make life better her. Again, Xena is puzzled by her own actions and thoughts. She finds she wants to make Gabrielle happy, feel liked and wanted by her. All this goes against everything Xena is and does.
More and more Xena becomes aware that there is more to Gabrielle than her demure presence suggests. She is wise beyond her years and capable of reading Xena’s wants and feelings. Xena feels herself quickly falling for Gabrielle. Another very puzzling development. And also very scary. Gabrielle is a slave. If Xena wants to be with her for real, she needs to set her free. But won’t she run when she does?
Wow, if you like a master/slave story it won’t get any better than this. There is a lot of sex in Journey’s End. It goes with the story of the insatiable Xena, Lord Conqueror and her body slave who she falls for. But this Xena is older and mellowing down. It’s never horrid or nasty. It’s actually very loving, especially for a Xena Conqueror story❤️. If you’re a fan of Xena Warrior Princess fanfic, you’ll be ecstatic reading this. I know I was 😏.
Journey’s End is Tale One of The Conqueror Series by L.J. Maas. After this part there is Tale Two: The Petal of the Rose and Tale Three: Time’s Fell Hand.
